Uzbekistan. Aral 2

On this trip I’ve been in both Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan. Turkmenistan pictures will follow (eventually). I didn’t manage to see the Aral itself. The water was some 200 km away over moonscape seabed and unfortunately I didn’t have time to go there… First time in my life I saw death agony of the town. Moynaq is dying. It used to be one of two main fishing ports on Aral sea… Now there are no running water, long queues for ‘fresh’ water (salty in reality) from wells, only couple of hours of electricity supply a day, cinema which hasn’t been used for over 20 years... It is emotionally difficult to see all this devastation with your own eyes. I read a lot about it before the trip, but still was unprepared to what I saw.
